Gokulashtami or Krishna Janmashtami, festival marks the celebration of birth of Lord Krishna. This festival is celebrated on August 25th and Dahi Handi is celebrated on August 26th, 2016. It is believed that Lord Krishna, took the eighth avatar of Vishnu and came on Earth. According to Hindu calendar this festival is celebrated on the 8th day of Ashtami of Krishna Paksh in the month of Bhadon of the dark fortnight. The occasion is celebrated with lot of zeal and enthusiasm all over the globe.
